Paul D. Ruch, 84, of Mooresville, passed away on December 11, 2024, at IU Health Methodist. He was born in Washington County, Ohio on January 23, 1940, to the late Lawrence W. and Mary Alice (Finnefrock) Ruch. Paul graduated from Lawrence Central High School in 1957 and enlisted in the United States Air Force the following year. He served his country from 1958 to 1961. Paul married Patsy Tobaben on November 4, 1960, and she preceded him in death in 2021. 

Paul was an air traffic controller with the FAA for just shy of 20 years. He then worked as a claims adjudicator for the State of Indiana before his retirement in 2005.

Paul spent several years as a racetrack official for the United States Auto Club, which he thoroughly enjoyed. 

To sum it up, Paul was a professional volunteer. His dedication to the service of others led to his affiliation with several organizations such as; the 500 Old Timers Club, Railroad Club, Kentucky Colonels Club, Optimist Club, Murat Shriners Reception Committee, Handicapable Camp, Jaycees member, Boy Scouts, American Legion Post 103, and 53 years with the Mooresville Masonic Lodge. 

In addition to his parents, Paul was preceded in death by his wife, Patsy Ruch; brother, Gerald Ruch; and sister, Shirley Barkhimer. 

Survivors include his two sons, Dale (Nina) Ruch and Perry Ruch; and two grandchildren, Marion and George Ruch. 

Carlisle – Branson Funeral Service & Crematory is handling Paul’s cremation arrangements. There will be a celebration of life at a later date.
