Peggy Ellen May

December 12, 1932 — June 14, 2016

Peggy Ellen (Beasley) May, 83, lifelong Mooresville resident, passed away June 14, 2016. Peggy was born December 12, 1932, in Mooresville, to the late Virgil and Bessie (Head) Beasley.

She graduated from Mooresville High School and worked for a period of time for State Life Insurance Company. She was also co-owner of The Furniture Center in Mooresville and later worked for Jackson’s Market and retired from NicePak. Peggy was a faithful member of the Mooresville First Christian Church and served on the church’s Concert on the Lawn committee. Above all, Peggy was a loving mother to her only son Tony. She will be fondly remembered by her family and many friends.

In addition to her parents, Peggy was preceded in death by her husband, Robert May; brothers, Robert, James and Paul “Bud” Beasley.

Survivors include one son, Tony May of Mooresville; sister, Betty Beasley of Mooresville; nieces and nephew, Holly Erickson of Mooresville, Cheryl Grimme of Zionsville, and Robert D. “Doug” Beasley of Indianapolis; a host of cousins.

The funeral service will begin at 7 p.m., Friday, June 17, 2016, in the First Christian Church. Friends may call at the church from 5 p.m. until service time. Pastor Glenda Survance will officiate.
