Phillip D. Hinton, 57, Martinsville, died August 4, 2011, in Kindred Hospital, Indianapolis. Phillip was born July 13, 1954, in Indianapolis, to the late Lawrence and Marjorie (Daniels) Hinton.
Phillip attended Howe High School in Indianapolis. He retired from General Motors in 1997, after many years of employment. Phillip enjoyed fishing, listening to music, and especially liked spending time with his grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one son, Joseph Fisher.
Survivors include his wife, Lisa Hinton; children, Phillip D. Hinton, Jr. (Shannon) of Cope, Greg Hinton (Amy) of Greenwood, and Desiree Fisher of Indianapolis; brother, Harold “Shag” Hinton (Janis) of Martinsville; sister, Donna Engleman (Paul) of Greenwood; grandchildren, Julia Hinton, Zach Neville, Olivia Hinton, Lauren Hinton, Destiny Fisher, Faith Fisher, and Gracee Fisher.
Friends and family will gather on Tuesday, August 9, 2011, from 4 to 8 p.m., at Carlisle – Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, Mooresville. There will be no funeral service. Cremation will follow the visitation, and burial of the urn will be at I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Waverly. Memorial contributions may be made to the Morgan County Humane Society.
