Phillip Victor Romano lost his battle with cancer on August 6, 2015 at the age of 69. He is survived by his devoted wife, Joan; his adoring children Christine (Shannon) Koger, Joseph Romano, and Andrea Romano; his beloved grandchildren Samantha Romano, Phillip S. Romano, Patrick Romano, Zachary Romano, Sean Romano, Vanessa Romano, Christian Koger; his great grandson Michael Romano; his brothers Anthony (Diane) Romano and Robert (Patrice) Romano. Phillip was born on July 7, 1946 in Brooklyn, NY to Antonio Romano and Mildred (Carmella) Levano, who preceded him in death. Phillip married his soul mate Joan Roche on Aug.10, 1966 and soon became a loving surrogate father to his wife’s siblings, Joseph Roche (deceased), John Roche, Jamie Roche, Julie Roche (Damms), and Jerome Roche (deceased). Phillip loved to work with his hands and his choice of careers allowed him to showcase his talents. He retired from the US Air Force in 1984 as a Master Sergeant after twenty years of honorable service. As a civilian, he worked for United Airlines as a Lead Machinist, retiring in 2003. He continued his craft as a Machinist/Tool Maker at AAR Corporation, retiring in 2012. He held affiliations with Knights of Columbus, American Legion, and Air Force Sergeants Association. Funeral Mass will take place at St. Thomas More Catholic Church located at 1200 N Indiana St, Mooresville, IN 46158 at 11am on Aug 18, 2015. The family would especially like to thank Michelle and Marina Wallace and Douglas Hand for all the love and support they have given the family through the years. In lieu of flowers, the family requests you arrange a Catholic Mass to be said in his name at any Catholic church on any date of your choosing. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Carlisle-Branson Funeral Service, Mooresville.
