Phyllis (Simpson, Kelso) Clark
81, of Franklin, passed away on June 29, 2017 at her home surrounded by her family. Phyllis was born on August 9, 1935 in Hendricks County, Indiana to the late Ralph and Eula (Hubbard) Simpson.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband John Kelso, a son; John Kelso Jr., two brothers; Ralph V. Simpson and Jack A. Simpson.
She was a simple, determined lady, who raised six children and was not intimidated by technology and loved her iPhone and texting her children and grandchildren! She enjoyed bowling, golfing and reading!
Phyllis worked in marketing and sales for General Accident Insurance Company for many years, before she retired. In addition to her work and raising six children, she was a proud and active member from 1996- 2017 of the American Legion Auxiliary of the Atkin’s Saw Unit #355 serving as the President in 2005. She was also active in volunteering with the USO, Past President of ALA, member of ALA Hoosier Girls State Board.
Survivors include her husband Bill Clark, children; Dale (Wendy) Kelso, Cheryl (Rick) Watkins, Cyndi (Russ) Hendricks, Rick Kelso, Darlene (James) Twomey, stepchildren; Deborah (Kyle) Gruber and Robert (Amber) Clark; 28 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren,
Visitation will be held Sunday July 2nd from 2-6pm at Carlisle – Branson Funeral Service & Crematory. Services will be held Monday July 3rd at 10:00am also at the funeral home. Burial will follow the services in White Lick Cemetery, Mooresville.
