Phyllis Crum Markowitz, 74, Mooresville, died August 17, 2013, in Meadow Lakes, Mooresville. Mrs. Markowitz was born November 10, 1938, in Antigo, Wisconsin, to the late Wales “Doc” and Eula Jones Crum.
She graduated from Antigo High School and attended Moody Bible College in Chicago. She had been employed for a number of years as an office manager and salesperson for Southwest Foam Form in Albuquerque, New Mexico. After moving to Mooresville, Mrs. Markowitz became a member of the Mooresville First Baptist Church and had been active at the Mooresville Senior Center. She was an avid bridge player. Above all, Phyllis had a strong love for the Lord and would share her faith with anyone. She was a devoted evangelist and powerful prayer warrior.
Survivors include her sons, Wess L. Markowitz (Donna) of North Carolina and David B. Markowitz (Beatrice) of New York; brother, Ray Crum of in Illinois; sister, Jane Koelsch of Wisconsin; grandchildren, Jessica and Jennifer Markowitz; Michael and Brian Duncan; great grandchildren, Emma Grace Duncan, Ryder Jack Duncan, Cody Wyatt Duncan, and Jesse Liam Duncan.
Friends and family will gather on Wednesday, August 21, 2013, 4 to 7 p.m., in the Carlisle – Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, Mooresville. Pastor Guy Lancour will officiate the 10 a.m. funeral service on Thursday, August 22, 2013. Burial will be in White Lick Cemetery.
