Phyllis J. Cottongim, age 71, of Mooresville, went to be with the Lord, Wednesday, July 8, 2015. Born November 12, 1943, in Lebanon, IN, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Ethel (Hybarger) Petree. Her brothers, George Petree and David Petree, also preceded her in death.
Phyllis was a member of Southland Community Church in Greenwood. She loved writing poetry, gardening and flowers.
Survivors include her husband, James E. Cottongim; her son, James A. (Melinda) Cottongim; her daughters, Tina (Carl) Atwell, Kimberly (Malcolm) Neumeyer, Robin (Ray) Ortensie; her brother, Dean Petree; her sister, Ruby McRoberts; and her seven grandchildren, Cassandra, Alyssa, Janel, Addison, Nathanyel, Reide, and Nicholas.
Family and friends will gather for visitation Friday, July 10, 2015 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Stones Crossing Church, 7000 W.Stones Crossing Road, Greenwood, IN 46143. Funeral services will be Saturday, July 11, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. at the church. Burial will be in Clayton Cemetery, Clayton, IN.
