Polly Joyce Young, 79, Mooresville, died peacefully at home April 16, 2015. Mrs. Young was born June 4, 1935, in London, Kentucky, to the late Roscoe Sweet and Willie (Waggoner) Parman.
Polly owned and operated her own beauty shop for many years called the Cut & Curl. She was a proud homemaker, loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She enjoyed sewing and was an accomplished cook. Polly was a long time member of the Church at Mt. Gilead, where she was also the church organist for many years. She will be missed by a loving family and many friends.
In addition to her mother and father, she was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Joseph E. Young; son, Joseph S. Young; step-father, Clarence Parman; siblings, Charles Allen, Troy Sweet, and Lois Gaines.
Survivors include sons, Daniel P. Young of Mooresville and David E. Young (Brenda) of Columbus; brother, Elmas Sweet of Mooresville; four grandchildren, Tony, Justin, Daniel, and Katie Young; five great grandchildren.
Friends and family will gather on Sunday, April 19, 2015, 2 to 5 p.m., in the chapel at Carlisle – Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, Mooresville. The funeral service will be officiated by Rev. Terry Crist at 11 a.m., Monday, April 20, 2015, in the funeral home. Interment will follow in White Lick Cemetery, Mooresville.
