R. LeRoy Cooksey

R. LeRoy Cooksey, 70, Mooresville, died November 17, 2011, in Hendricks Regional Health, Danville. Mr. Cooksey was born July 18, 1941, in Stilesville, to the late Rolla B. and Alice Mildred (Sheese) Cooksey.

He graduated from Cloverdale High School. Mr. Cooksey was a truck driver for 40 years, driving for McLean, OK, and Preston. He was a member of Teamsters Local Union #135. Following retirement, he worked for INDOT for ten years in Plainfield. He was a longtime member of Amity Baptist Church and more recently Abounding Grace Worship Center. A devoted family man and hard worker, LeRoy will be missed by his loving family and many friends.

Survivors include his wife, Glennis (Jones) Cooksey, to whom he was united in marriage June 3, 1962; son, Gary Cooksey (Stephanie) of Mooresville; daughter, Dawn Warthen (Tom) of Mooresville; sister, Rhonda Stinson (Hank) of Fillmore; granddaughters, Heather and Danielle Warthen; several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will begin at 7 p.m., Saturday, November 19, 2011 at the Carlisle – Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, Mooresville, with calling there from 4 p.m. The graveside service will held in White Lick Cemetery, Mooresville, at 2 p.m., on Sunday, November 20, 2011.
