Ralph Charles Galbreath II, 72, of Bedford, died Saturday, December 9, 2023 at IU Health Bloomington Hospital. He was born in Indianapolis on July 22, 1951 to the late Ralph Charles Galbreath and Wilma Frances (Smith) Galbreath.
He previously worked as a janitor at Neil Armstrong Elementary School in Mooresville. Ralph had served in the United States Navy aboard the USS Enterprise. He enjoyed painting, loved listening to old rock’n’roll, especially Elvis Presley, and fishing. He also enjoyed watching westerns and sports. Ralph was a sweet and loving man while still being direct and to the point. A loving father, he was his daughter’s hero and she loved him dearly.
He leaves behind his family including his daughter, Lisa (husband, Jon) Irrgang of Mooresville; brother, Paul “Bobby” (wife, Sandy) Galbreath of Martinsville; sisters, Helen Hilbers of Nebraska and Jeanie Galbreath; grandchildren, Jade (Cline) Austin of Indianapolis, Taylor Medenwald of Frankton, and Julia Medenwald of Mooresville; great grandchildren, Brantley, Dallas, Savannah, and Kloie; and caregivers and chosen family, Tracy Hall and Katie Strunk.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Wilma Galbreath; son, Ralph Charles Galbreath III; brother, Glen Murphy; and sister, Mary Carson.
Family and friends are invited to visit on Tuesday, December 19th from 12:00 noon to 2:00 pm in the chapel at Carlisle-Branson Funeral Service and Crematory in Mooresville. A service celebrating Ralph’s life will immediately follow, beginning at 2:00 pm. Following the service, he will be laid in Mooresville Cemetery.
