Ralph T. Gilman

Ralph T. Gilman, 82, of Mooresville passed away on Friday, February 21, 2014. He was born April 14, 1931 in Scotts Co. Indiana to the late Fremont and Vera Gilman.

Aside from his loving parents he is preceded in death by his wife Karen Gilman; his 4 brothers, Thurman, Raymond “Leon”, Ronald and Eldon Gilman; and a sister, Wanda Lloyd.

He most recently worked for Stoops Freightliner, prior to that he worked for Amtrak and also Whiteford Leasing. He was a member of the Mooresville VFW, he enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren.

He is survived by 5 children, Mitchell Gilman of Mooresville, Dennis Gilman of Beech Grove, Julia Emberton ( Curtis) of Morgantown, Jim Gilman of Mooresville, and Kathy Raikes ( Bob) of Martinsville; and his sister Lois Colee of Avon. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was a well known man of community and will be missed by many.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00AM on Thursday, February 27, 2014 at Carlisle-Branson Funeral Service & Crematory with burial to follow at West Newton Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5:00PM until 8PM on Wednesday at the funeral home.
