Raymond Ray Bowers, 69, Mooresville, died peacefully at home July 5, 2016. Ray was born October 5, 1946 in Martinsville and was preceded in death by his parents, George C. and Emma Lee (Spradlin) Bradford.
He attended Monrovia High School and proudly served in the United States Army. Ray was a member of the American Legion Post 103 and the VFW Post 1257. He was also a founding member of the American Legion Riders in Mooresville. Ray was a proud American and serviceman who was always willing to lend a helping hand to another veteran. He worked for Automotive Armature, Dalton Trucking, and also ran a flea market business for a period of time. It is fair to say that Ray embodied a unique and natural entrepreneurial spirit that provided various opportunities during his life. Second only to his family, Ray loved horses - he was a talented horse trainer. Above all, he was proud family man who will be missed by his loving family and many friends.
