Raymond Russell “Rusty” Medsker, 64, Mooresville, died peacefully at home July 6, 2015. Mr. Medsker was born October 5, 1950, in Indianapolis, to the late Raymond W. Medsker and Wilma E. (Denman) Medsker, who survives.
He attended George Washington High School and proudly served in the United States Army. Ray was employed as a letter carrier for the United States Postal Service for 30 years, retiring in 2006. He attended Camby Community Church. Ray had a love for animals and especially enjoyed his bird, Sullie and his dogs, Gus and Jayda. He was an avid fisherman, motorcycle enthusiast, and enjoyed traveling. Ray remained a caring, loving, and gracious man during his battle with Alzheimer’s. Ray was a strongly devoted to his family and will be forever remembered as a loving husband, father, brother, and friend to many.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by one brother, Steven Medsker.
Survivors include his wife, Carla (Warthen) Medsker, to whom he was united in marriage March 15, 1980; one son, Joshua Medsker; mother, Wilma E. (Denman) Medsker of Indianapolis; sister, Barbara E. May of Speedway.
Friends and family will gather Friday, July 10, 2015, 4 to 8 p.m., in the chapel at Carlisle – Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, Mooresville. Rev. Charles Paxton will officiate the service to celebrate Ray’s life on Saturday, July 11, 2015, 10 a.m., in the funeral home.
