Raymond E. Shepard, Jr.

86, of Mooresville, passed away on April 29, 2023, at Miller’s Merry Manor in Mooresville. Ray was born on April 22, 1937 in Troy, Ohio to the late Raymond E. Shepard, Sr. and Eunice (MacLead) Shepard.

Farming was Ray’s passion, however he was a machinist by trade, working for BF Goodrich/Carlisle in Bloomington, IN for many years, before retiring in 2002. He loved working on his farm in Odon, driving his tractor as well as his 2005 Dodge Truck. He married Vickie J. (Rose) Shepard on June 7, 1993, and were married just shy of 30 years.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son Brian Shepard, brother Donald Shepard, sisters Christine Peterson, Mary Bayman, and a stepson David Burress.

He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Vickie J. Shepard; daughters Tammy McIntyre, Tara (James) Ashworth, Toni (Thomas) Cranfill, Tina Rose; grandchildren Cassady McIntyre, Hannah Ashworth, Caleb Ashworth, Owen Ashworth, Ryan Perryman, Tessa Perryman, Catherine Brummett, Stephen Brummett, Dylan Burress; great grandchildren, Rogue Perryman, Aiden Dennison, Beckett Burress, Beau Burress, who will all miss him dearly.

Family and friends will gather to celebrate Ray’s life on Saturday, May 6^th from 12-2pm at Carlisle Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, Mooresville, with memorial services beginning at 2pm Saturday in the funeral home.
