RB Stephey

RB Stephey, 89, Mooresville, passed away July 7, 2020. RB was born January 26, 1931, in Toledo, Ohio, to the late Wayne A. and Muriel (Allen) Stephey.

His family moved to Indianapolis when he was a young man and he later settled in Morgan County. He worked at Diamond Chain and later for Grady Brothers Asphalt Company for 18 years. He and his late wife, Elizabeth, also owned and operated Stephey’s Food Wagon for many years. RB was an excellent cook – a great hobby that served him well through his life. He also enjoyed fishing, bowling, and an occasional trip to the casino. RB will be remembered for his strong work ethic and his kind and generous nature.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 68 years, Elizabeth Ann Stephey; son, Michael Dale Stephey; brother, Wayne Allen “Tiny” Stephey.

Survivors include his children, Janet Lee Brochhagen of Martinsville, Robbie (Shelly) Stephey of Martinsville, and Bobbie Stephey of Mooresville; brothers, Lee (Diane) Stephey of Mooresville; Dale Stephey of Bargersville; 9 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren.

Calling hours will not be observed. The graveside service will begin at 10 a.m., Monday, July 13, 2020, at the Centerton Cemetery.
