Richard F. VanDeVanter
84, of Camby, passed away on March 16, 2021, at his home surrounded by his family after a brief and courageous battle with cancer. Richard was born on September 25, 1936 in Indianapolis, IN to the late Helen (Landrigan) and Wilbur VanDeVanter.
Richard retired as a supervisor for Faris Mailing Company. A devoted family man and patriarch, Richard loved spending time with his family whether it was going dancing with his wife Carolyn, going fishing, going to the beach or at family get togethers throughout the year and during the holidays. Richard loved spending his winter months in Florida at the Red Coconut with Carolyn, where they met and had wonderful times and great memories with lifelong friends from all over the United States and Canada. He will be greatly missed by all.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a daughter Katrina Evans and siblings Raymond, Jeffrey, Billy and Judy.
He is survived by his wife Carolyn (Fancher) VanDeVanter; children Alan VanDeVanter, Pam Robinson, Tony VanDeVanter, Paula VanDeVanter; sister Marie Shea; brother Larry VanDeVanter; 11 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
Family and friends will gather to celebrate Richard’s life on Tuesday, March 23rd from 4-6pm at Carlisle Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, Mooresville, with memorial services beginning at 6pm in the funeral home.
All guests attending visitation and/or services will be required to wear a mask at all times in an effort to promote a safe environment. You are also invited to watch the services via live stream on the Carlisle Branson Facebook page.
