Richard L. Swatts, 64, El Paso, Texas, formerly of Brooklyn, died February 3, 2014, in El Paso. Mr. Swatts was born June 24, 1949, in Indianapolis, to the late Sylvester Swatts and Dorothy Alice (Perkins) Swatts.
Following high school, Mr. Swatts proudly served in the United States Army. Richard had lived in El Paso for the past 30 years, where he had been a self - employed fruit salesman. He enjoyed spending time with his family and taking them out to dinner as often as possible.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Martha Thompson.
Survivors include his wife, Amparo Swatts; children, Richard Swatts, Arthur Swatts, Cesar Swatts, Sara Swatts, Andres Swatts, and Laura Banda; sisters, Barbara Border, Shirley Ann Hansel, and Linda Miles; many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren.
The funeral service will begin at 10 a.m., Tuesday, February 18, 2014, in the Carlisle - Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, Mooresville, with calling there from 4 to 7 p.m., Monday, February 17, 2014.
