Robert A. Woods, 91, of Plainfield and longtime resident of Terre Haute, passed away December 19, 2020. Robert was born April 21, 1929, in Clay City, Indiana, to the late Joseph W. and Olive (Shidler) Woods.
Robert was a devoted Christian and a member of Crossroads Church of Mooresville. He worked at General Telephone Co. as an installer for 35 years and 7 months, retiring in 1991. Bob was also a lifetime member of the I.B.E.W. He enjoyed gardening, wood chopping, collecting golf balls, and eating fried chicken. He also enjoyed doing yard work and would help keep the church grounds maintained. Bob was a loving and caring man, who never met a stranger. Robert is going to be greatly missed by his loving family and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Deloris (Miller) Woods; son, Bradley Woods; and a brother, Melvin Woods.
Survivors include his children, Rhonda (Richard) Peters and Linda (Curtiss) White; grandchildren, Angel (Brent) Curtis, Andy (Jessica) Peters, Adria (Kurt) Westbrook, Lindsay (Brett) Crandall, Landon (Christa) White, Logan (Kelly) White, and Lauren White (Fiancé Bailey); 12 great grandchildren; and 5 great-great grandchildren.
Friends and family will gather to remember the life of Robert Woods on Sunday, December 27, 2020, 3 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., at Crossroads Church of Mooresville; the funeral service will follow at 5:30 p.m. All guests attending visitation and/or services will be required to wear a mask in an effort to promote a safe environment.
