Robert “Bobby” ReCord, 60, Martinsville, died April 17, 2012, in his residence. Bobby was born September 2, 1951, in Martinsville, to the late Robert M. Record and Elizabeth Ione (Hillman) ReCord, who survives.
Bobby attended Martinsville schools and proudly served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He lived his life the way he wanted to. He never knew a stranger and had more friends than you could count. Bobby was a wonderful husband and father. He helped his mother raise his siblings since he was thirteen years old. Bobby will truly be missed by everyone he knew.
He was preceded in death by his father, Robert M. ReCord and one brother, Alan “Oopie” ReCord.
Survivors include his wife, Phyllis Record; mother, Elizabeth ReCord of Brooklyn; sons, Eddie Burns, Bruce ReCord, Brian ReCord, Floyd Eugene Lester, Jacob Kaufman, A.J. Kaufman; daughters, Michelle “Chippy” Collins Stedham, Nicole “Nickel” Hacker, Jackie Cleary; brothers, Buddy ReCord of Florida, Don ReCord of Florida, and Billy ReCord of Martinsville; sister, Darlene “Sam” ReCord Long; 11 grandchildren; 7 nieces; 3 nephews.
The funeral service will begin at 11 a.m., Friday, April 20, 2012, at Carlisle – Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, Mooresville, with calling there from 4 to 8 p.m., Thursday, April 19, 2012.
