Robert Emlin Crowe, 88, of Mooresville, passed peacefully in the comfort of his home surrounded by his family on Monday, June 3, 2024.  He was born in Gary, Indiana on August 1, 1935 to the late Oscar Emlin Crowe and Anne (Oseka) Crowe.

Bob, as most knew him, graduated from Calumet Township High School in Gary with the class of 1953.  He then continued his education at Indiana University earning a bachelor's degree in business graduating with honors in 1957.  After graduating college, he was drafted into the Army and selflessly served his country.  He was honorably discharged in 1964.

In 1961, Bob was set up by a mutual friend with a lovely young lady who later would become his wife.  After only five months, the couple was engaged and then married the following year.  Bob married Naomi “Noni” Jean Thomas on July 28, 1962.

He had a rewarding and distinguished career in business including being the plant manager of Arvin Industries Consumers Electronics Division in Taipei, Taiwan.

Bob loved the outdoors.  He enjoyed working in the yard, gardening, fishing, camping, boating, and other outdoor activities.  He also was an avid photographer.  A talented wood worker, Bob made many things over the years including grandfather clocks.  Additionally, he enjoyed oil painting.  An avid dog lover, he especially liked standard poodles. He was a dedicated Catholic and a member of the St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Mooresville.  He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus.  His faith was incredibly important to him and often was quick to make sure his family attended church.

He will be missed by his family and friends including his wife of nearly 62 years, Noni Crowe of Mooresville; son, Scott (fiancé, Stephanie) Crowe of West Terre Haute; daughter, Candy (husband, David) Bex of Indianapolis; brother, Pat (wife, Sandy) Crowe of Hebron; grandchildren, Ryan (wife, Savannah) Crowe, Andrew (wife, Courtney) Bex, Alexander Bex; Chelsea Crowe, Zachary Bex, and Elizabeth Bex; and a great grandchild, Siena Bex.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar and Anne Crowe; and sister, Marianne Artka.

Family and friends are invited to visit on Thursday, June 6th from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Mooresville.  The Funeral Mass will begin at 11:00 am at the church.  Burial will follow in White Lick Cemetery in Mooresville.  Carlisle – Branson Funeral Service & Crematory in Mooresville has been entrusted with the arrangements.
