Robert D. Summers

Robert D. Summers, 85, Mooresville, passed away March 17, 2018. Mr. Summers was born November 15, 1932, in Hendricks County, to the late Roy and Leota (Cooper) Summers.

He graduated from Clayton High School in 1950 and proudly served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He worked for TWA for 30 years, retiring in 1986. Mr. Summers enjoyed farming and raising Belgian horses. In addition, he was a member of the VFW Post 1111 and the American Legion Post 103.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Keith Summers; sisters, Jean McLaughlin, Barbara Unger, Jo Skelton, and Dorothy Tidd; grandson, Adam Plummer.

Survivors include his children, Bob Summers of Mooresville, Mark Summers of Mooresville, Lori Summers of California, and Steve Summers of Mooresville; brother, Nick Summers of Plainfield; eight grandchildren; six great grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
