Robert F. Thompson, 81 of Camby, passed away August 28, 2015 in the comfort of his own home. He was born November 5, 1933 in Indianapolis to the late Hardy Thompson and Bertha V. Glaze.
Robert worked in machine repair for Coca Cola for 38 years. A hard worker, he also helped his mother on her newspaper route and enjoyed tearing down old buildings with Louie and Denny Catellier. He enjoyed doing anything with his hands, including tinkering with old junk cars for their parts. Robert loved his Lord and was proudly saved as a child of God by Rev. Don Endsley at the age of 81.
His father, Hardy Thompson, his mother and step-father, Bertha V. and George O. Wright and his sister, Norma Garber all preceded him in death. Survivors include his sister, Deborah A. Wright of Camby; two brothers, Dave (Wife: Diana) Thompson of Mooresville and Charles D. Thompson of Indianapolis and a host of nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will gather for visitation from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. in the chapel at Carlisle-Branson Funeral Service & Crematory in Mooresville on Tuesday, September 1. Rev. Don Endsley will conduct a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home. Entombment will follow at Floral Park Cemetery.
