Robert LeRoy Tucker, 83, Indianapolis, passed away peacefully at home June 25, 2016. Mr. Tucker was born October 7, 1932, in Indianapolis, to the late Garrett and Florence Tucker.
He enjoyed a long career with the Indianapolis Public Schools, where he worked for 38 years, retiring in 1993 as the head of maintenance. Mr. Tucker proudly served in the United States Army during the Korean War and was a member of the American Legion Post 500 and the VFW Post 1587 in Speedway. He was also a member of the Speedway United Methodist Church and the Moose Lodge #500. Above all, he was a loving husband, father and dear friend to many.
Survivors include his wife, Lois F. Tucker; sons, Christopher A. Tucker of Indianapolis and Rickey Dean Parton of Indianapolis; special nieces, Kelly Callahan, Ana-Marie House, and Katelyn Parton; special great niece, Khloe Cook; special great nephew, Karter Cook.
Friends and family will gather on Tuesday, June 28, 2016, 4 to 7 p.m. in the chapel at
Carlisle – Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, Mooresville. The funeral service will follow at 7 p.m. Military Honors will be performed by the United States Army and the Honor Guard.
