Roberta Swinney Mosier

January 12, 1936 — December 18, 2020

Roberta Swinney Mosier, 84, long time resident of Mooresville, passed away December 18, 2020. Roberta was born January 12, 1936, in Indianapolis, to the late Robert and Dorothy (Stewart) Johnson.

Roberta’s life revolved around Mooresville, and in 2008 she was Mooresville High School Alumni of the year. She help establish Swinney Bro Excavating and Small World Child Care Center alongside her husband, Don. She was a proud Christian and member at Mooresville Christian Church. Roberta enjoyed playing the piano, playing cards, cooking, but most of all being with her family. Roberta will always be remembered by how loving and caring she was to everyone. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Donald Swinney; second husband, Joseph Mosier; step-children, Harrel (Buddy) Mosier and Nancy Waterman; brothers, Raymond and Norman “Tim” Johnson; and a sister, Wilma Boone.

Survivors include her children, Gregory (Deborah) Swinney, Marcia (Jim) Morris, and Connie (Butch) Ashley; step-child, Darrel “Boone” (Sally) Mosier; sister, Martha “Sparkie” Elkins; stepdaughter-in-law, Faye Mosier; 13 grandchildren; a host of great grandchildren and a special friend, Marvin LaRoche.

Family would like to thank everyone at Meadow Lakes and Owen Valley Health Campus for all their hard work.

Friends and family will gather to remember the life of Roberta Swinney Mosier on Tuesday, December 22, 2020, 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., at the Carlisle – Branson Funeral Service & Crematory: 39 E. High Street, Mooresville, Indiana 46158. The funeral service will be private on Wednesday, December 23, 2020, at 1 p.m. The funeral will be livestreamed by visiting www.CarlisleBranson.com for all guest to watch. All guests attending visitation will be required to wear a mask at all times in an effort to promote a safe environment. Burial will follow at the Mooresville Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Mooresville Senior Center. Visit www.CarlisleBranson.com to share a favorite memory or to sign the online guest registry. Once everything gets safer for large gatherings a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
