Roger W. Smith, 66, of Mooresville died on Friday April 25, 2014 following a prolonged illness. He was born on March 27, 1948 in Indianapolis to Ronald and Louise Smith.

He is preceded in death by his beloved son, Robin Smith who passed away in 2013 and his father, Ronald Smith.

Roger was an avid fisherman, and shared the love of fishing with his wife Patti. He was a member of the Hoosier Hookers fishing club. He was a fan of all sports, some of his favorite teams being the Chicago Bears, the Colts, the Chicago Cubs. He enjoyed country music.

He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Patti Hinshaw Smith; his mother, Louise Smith; his two sisters, Tari Smith Eversole (Joe), and Traci Smith; his two step-grandchildren, Cassidy and Craig Frost; his four nephews, Joe Eversole (Holly), Justin Eversole, Adam Smith and Alex Smith; and his great- niece, Piper Jane Eversole.

A memorial service will be held at 7:00PM Thursday, May 1, 2014 at Carlisle-Branson Funeral Service & Crematory. A gathering of friends will take place from 5:00PM until service time on Thursday at the funeral home.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to American Diabetes Foundation.
