Roger Dean Walls, 71, of Martinsville, was called home to be with his Lord and Savior unexpectedly on Saturday, November 16, 2024 while deer hunting. He was born in Linton on September 14, 1953, to the late Otis Leo Walls and Mary Lucille (Rydenbark) Walls.
He graduated from Martinsville High School with the class of 1973. He worked as a display carpenter for Hamilton Displays for 18 years and then Exhibit House for 18 years before retiring in January of 2022. He was known for his meticulous attention to detail in all his designs and always striving for perfection.
Roger married the love of his life, Kathy Regina LaMastus, on November 17, 1973. He was a member of the Hazelwood Baptist Church in Clayton. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed fishing and hunting. In recent years he took over the cooking in their household and became a talented cook. His love and talent for carpentry enabled him to create many pieces of furniture for his family to treasure for years to come. An avid coffee drinker, it was a rarity for Roger to not have a cup in hand. Last but certainly not least, he was a faithful believer and enjoyed reading his Bible.
He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by his loving family and friends including his wife of nearly 51 years, Kathy Walls of Martinsville; daughters, Jenny (husband, Will) Burgess of Campbellsville, Kentucky and Amanda Wiseman of Bloomington; brothers, Lonnie Walls of Cloverdale and Leroy (wife, Karen) Walls of Martinsville; sisters, Ruby Floyd of Indianapolis and Lois Renner of Indianapolis; grandchildren, Levi (wife, Tapanga), C.J., Jonah, Ethan, Luci, and Evie; and great grandson, Henry.
Roger was preceded in death by his parents, Leo and Mary Walls; and sister, Mary Martin.
