Ron L. Stanfill

72, of Plainfield, passed away August 22, 2018 at his home surrounded by his family. Ron was born on February 21, 1946 in Jackson, Tennessee to the late James Ottis Stanfill and Anna Maiona (Coates) Stanfill.

Ron honorably served his country in the US Air Force. After service, he worked as a printer and later as a corrections officer at the Plainfield Correctional Facility for over 25 years, before retiring. He married the love of his life, Linda on March 13, 1976, recently celebrating 43 years of marriage this past March. He enjoyed spending time with his family, playing and watching sports, especially the Colts and Cubs.

He is survived by wife of 43 years; Linda (Pauley) Stanfill, sons; F. Scott Handlon (Denise), Jason Handlon (Michele), daughter; Tara Sitcler, brother; Gaylon Stanfill, sister; Sherry Fugate and 8 grandchildren.

A Memorial Service & Gathering to Celebrate Ron’s Life will take place on Sunday Sept. 2nd at 1:30pm at The Light & Life Free Methodist Church, 8264 E County Rd 100 S, Avon, IN 46123, with a time of food and fellowship immediately following the services.

Cremation arrangements are entrusted to Carlisle Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, Mooresville.
