Ronald Glessner, 88, Plainfield, passed away on January 25, 2021. He was born in Swayzee, Indiana, July 14, 1932, to the late Carmon and Mildred Glessner. Ronald loved the Lord and was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He was a member of the Plainfield Christian Church. Ronald graduated from Peru High School and joined the Navy in 1951 during the Korean War and served on the USS The Sullivans destroyer. He worked for Hunt Paving Company for 35 years. Ronald loved talking about his years in the Navy. He also loved animals, and had dogs his whole life. He was an avid and accomplished woodworker.
Ronald was preceded in death by his brothers, Gerald Glessner and Jackie Glessner, and by his brother-in-law, Jim Hunter. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Mary Ann Glessner; daughter, Kim (Chuck) Muston and Kelly Mills; his grandchildren, CJ (Kirston) Muston, Megan (Kyle) Westrick, Jordan Mills, Connor Mills, and Brandon Mills; his great grandchildren, Brinkley, Clark, Tate and Louna Muston, and Cole and Sydney Westrick; his brother, Morris (Ruth Ann) Glessner; his sister, Aileen Hunter; and several nieces and nephews.
The Glessner Family is grateful to the entire staff at Plainfield Healthcare Center for providing such loving care and attention to Ronald.
All are invited to the Life Celebration of Ronald Glessner on Friday, May 28, 2021, 9 - 10:30 a.m., in the Plainfield Christian Church, 800 Dan Jones Road, Plainfield. The memorial service will follow at 10:30. Burial, with military honors, will be at Maple Hill Cemetery.
