Ronnie W. Poynter, 71, Mooresville, passed away April 3, 2021. Ronnie was born October 18, 1949, in Lancaster, Kentucky, to the late Douglas and Jessie M. Hall.
He graduated from Decatur Central High School in 1967 and was a loyal employee at Yellow Freight for more than 23 years. Ronnie was a motor enthusiast – he enjoyed all kinds of cars, especially street rods. He collected stamps and coins, loved animals, and watching old time television shows. Above all, Ronnie was strongly devoted to his family and was a proud father and grandfather.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his step-father, David Hall and a sister Theresa (Hall) Yeager.
Survivors include his son, Douglas (Christy) Poynter Donaldson; daughters, Tina McHaley, Kim (Kevin) Poynter Mitchell, and Colleen (Joe) Poynter Lohman; sister, Debbie Ezell; many brothers; grandchildren, Zachary, Jackie, Sarah, Whitney, Alexa, Lara, Jordan, Hannah, and Emily.
Visitation will be Tuesday, April 6, 2021, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the Carlisle – Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, Mooresville. Services will follow at 1 p.m. with Jack Elliott officiating.
