Rose A. Cousins, 70, Monrovia, formerly of Chicago, Illinois, passed away peacefully at home September 19, 2019. Mrs. Cousins was born January 27, 1949, in Chicago to the late Jeff and Ernestine (Thomas) Parker.
Following her graduation from high school, Rose furthered her education at Dawson Nursing School, graduating in May of 1981. She worked at the University Of Chicago Hospital from June 1981 until her retirement in 2008. Mrs. Cousins was of the Baptist faith and was known for always putting others before herself. She enjoyed cooking for her family, watching movies, and loved to take walks. Rose used to travel on the bus rain, sleet and snow to show her support of others in their time of need. She will be fondly remembered for her great sense of humor and being a loving grandmother. Rose’s memory will be cherished by her loving family and many friends.
Survivors include her husband of more than 51 years, Will Cousins; sons, William Cousins of Chicago and Ronald Cousins of Wisconsin; daughters, Cheryl Cousins of Chicago and Erica Cousins of Monrovia; brothers, Maurice Parker of Chicago and Gilford Parker of Chicago; sister, Margaret Brown of Chicago; 17 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; and best friends, Linda, Rolan and Lolita.
Visitation will be on Saturday, September 28, 2019, 2 to 4 p.m., at Carlisle – Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, Mooresville. The funeral service will follow at 4 p.m. Cremation will take place following services at the Morgan County Crematory, Mooresville.
