Roy Leon Lasiter

Roy Leon Lasiter, 83, Mooresville, died peacefully at home February 14, 2016. Mr. Lasiter was born June 15, 1932, in Bargersville, to the late Harry and Hazel (Parker) Lasiter.

He graduated from Center Grove High School and proudly served in the United States Army. Mr. Lasiter worked for Indiana Bell and Ameritech for 35 years, retiring in 1990 as a Network Testing Technician. He was a devoted member of the Mooresville Lions Club and chaired the annual Grand Prix for a number of years. In addition, he showed Mustangs with his twin brother, Leroy and was a member of the Mustang Club. Leon was an avid gardener and mentor to the neighborhood youth. He hosted the Haunted Trail for Boy Scouts for many years and participated and supported little league baseball.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Jeff Lasiter.

Survivors include his wife, Nancy A. (Baldauf) Lasiter, to whom he was united in marriage on June 18, 1955; children, Randy Lasiter of Mooresville, Teresa Carpenter of Indianapolis, Jan Koors of Brownsburg, Lisa Kinder of Plainfield, and Karen Brenner of Brownsburg; brothers, William, Harry, Donald and Leroy Lasiter; sister, Doris Rhodes; grandchildren, Lindsay Ecklund, Megan Creasser, David Carpenter, Paige Koors, Cassandra Koors, Sara Lasiter, Jacob Lasiter, Katelyn Lasiter; great grandchildren, Jillian Donis, Caleb Creasser, Lucan Creasser, Camden Lasiter.

Friends and family will gather to celebrate the life of Roy Leon Lasiter on Thursday, February 18, 2016, 4 to 8 p.m. in the chapel at Carlisle – Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, Mooresville. The Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10 a.m., Friday, February 19, 2016, in St. Thomas More Catholic Church, Mooresville. Entombment will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Indianapolis.
