Ruby Kinnett Davee, 93, Mooresville, died peacefully at home in the early morning hours on October 28, 2015. Mrs. Davee was born June 15, 1922, in Brown County, to the late Alva and Mary (Lemons) Kinnett.
Ruby was the consummate farm wife alongside of her late husband, Dale Davee. She was also a generous volunteer for Gleaners Food Bank, Churches in Mission, Morgan County Hospital, and the former Kennedy Home in Martinsville. Gleaners honored Mrs. Davee with their Volunteer of the Year Award in 2000. Mrs. Davee ran and operated her own food pantry for years on their property on Mann Road, literally feeding hundreds of needy people in Morgan County. Ruby and Dale enjoyed traveling throughout the U.S., especially to Colorado, Renfro Valley, and Missouri. She loved people and was always very social, making friends easily. Ruby will be fondly remembered for her love of family, her delicious home-cooked meals, and her generous spirit.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 75 years, Dale Davee; siblings, Geneva Miley, Virginia Hamilton, Mary Roman, Rosalie Randolph, William Kinnett, Everett Kinnett, Richard Kinnett, and Charles Kinnett.
Survivors include her children, Roger Davee (Wanda) of Mooresville and Mary Ann Trout (Jack Stohlman) of Franklin; sister, Esther Hamilton of Morgantown; grandchildren, Misty Wright (Pastor Mark) of Mooresville and Michael Davee of Montana; eight great grandchildren; four great great grandchildren.
The family would like to thank the many caregivers who provided Ruby with extraordinary love and care during the last several years.
Friends and family will gather from 2 to 6 p.m., Monday, November 2, 2015, in the Church at Mt. Gilead, 6019 E. State Road 144, Mooresville. Pastors Terry Crist and Mark Wright will officiate the 6 p.m. funeral service. Private entombment will be held on Tuesday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Churches in Mission or to Gleaners Food Bank.
