Ruth Williams Harris, 94, Mooresville, died peacefully July 28, 2013, in Meadow Lakes, Mooresville. Mrs. Harris was born July 9, 1919, in Daviess County, Indiana, to the late Walter Henry and Flora Alice Doyle Williams.
A 75 year member of the Mooresville First United Methodist Church, Mrs. Harris was also active with the United Methodist Women. In addition, she enjoyed volunteering at Churches in Mission. She worked as a sales clerk at Habig’s Casuals for 20 years, retiring in 1985. A proud homemaker, Mrs. Harris was an accomplished cook, seamstress, quilter, and also enjoyed reading. Mrs. Harris will be missed by a loving family and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Norman Allen Harris; sons, William D. and Richard D. Harris; brothers, Harold, Pat, and Donald Williams; grandchildren, Scott Harris, Richard Harris, and Garrick Redmond; one great grandchild.
Survivors include her daughters, Karen Sue Smith (the late Charles) of Indianapolis, Norma L. Redmond (Mike) of Mooresville, and Karlena J. DeLong (Kenny) of Cincinnati; ten grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren.
The funeral service will begin at 11 a.m., Thursday, August 1, 2013, in the Carlisle – Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, Mooresville, with calling there from 5 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, July 31, 2013. Rev. Dennis Payton will officiate and burial will be in White Lick Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the United Methodist Women Guild at First United Methodist Church.
