Samuel Ellis Chambers, 71, of Mooresville, passed from this life unexpectedly on Friday, August 4, 2023 in the comfort of his home. He was born on August 10, 1951 in Hammond, Indiana to the late Marshal Wayne and Marjorie Maxine (Black) Chambers.
He graduated from Emmerick Manual High School in Indianapolis with the class of 1969. He was retired but most recently worked as the board secretary for Eagle Creek Park in Indianapolis.
Samuel was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed golfing and birdwatching. He also used to enjoy taking his sons camping. Not afraid to show affection, he was always quick with a hug. He also was quick with a joke! Additionally, he loved listening to music, especially anything in the folk genre.
He is survived by his family and friends including his sons, Seth (wife, Stormie) Chambers of Indianapolis and Nathan (wife, Kelly) Weber of Indianapolis; sister, Rebecca Chambers (husband, Al Lukasek) of Hobart; and grandchildren, Braelynne Chambers, Torin Chambers, Zoie Weber, and Eian Worley.
