Sherry Lynne Edwards- Duke

63, of Mooresville, passed away on August 13, 2024 at St. Francis Hospital in Mooresville, after a courageous battle with COPD. Sherry was born on January 24, 1961 in Martinsville, Indiana to the late William Ransom and Ruthanna (Moore) Dodd.

A lifelong resident of Morgan County, Sherry was a proud graduate of Mooresville High School. She worked in bookkeeping for Citizens Bank in Mooresville for many years, until her health would no longer allow it, retiring in 1995. Sherry loved her family, especially her grandkids. She enjoyed traveling to Brown County, as well as to Arizona and Florida to visit family. Additionally, she enjoyed crochet, fishing, cheering on her Indianapolis Colts and drinking a fountain Pepsi (with little ice) while watching Judge Judy or the People’s Court, with Judge Wapner. She will be remembered for her great, witty sense of humor as well as her big heart, who was known as “Grandma Sherry” to many others whom she loved just as her own.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Mark Edwards, David Duke, and a brother-in-law, Daniel McClain.

She is survived by her sons Josh Edwards (Shauna Sanders), Eric Edwards (Brittany), Travis Edwards (Jessica Hacker), stepson Chris Duke (Amy); stepdaughters Heather Duke (Ryan McCormick), Kristen Driver (Jacob); siblings Robert Ransom (Donna), William Ransom, Betty McClain, Danny Ransom, Donny Ransom (Sally), Jerry Ransom (Lyn), Gary Ransom (Debbie), Judy Westenhofer (David), Terri Ransom, Karen Nimitz (Mark), Peggy Llamas (Steve), and 17 grandchildren, who will all miss her dearly.

Family and Friends will gather to celebrate Sherry’s life on Friday, August 16th from 4-8pm at Carlisle Branson Funeral Service & Crematory. Services will be held on Saturday, August 17th at 10am in the funeral home. Burial will follow the services in White Lick Cemetery, Mooresville.
