Shirlee M. Spoon

Shirlee M. Spoon, 80, Mooresville, passed away November 30, 2016, in Hendricks Regional Hospital. Mrs. Spoon was born December 16, 1935, in Hendricks County to the late Robert and Mary (Wells) Ross.

Shirlee attended Plainfield Schools and was a proud homemaker – a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She had been a member of First Baptist Church in Mooresville and was a strong follower of Christ. She was also a member of the VFW Post 1111 Ladies’ Auxiliary. For many years she was an avid bowler and always loved fishing. The family enjoyed years of camping as the children were growing up. Shirlee will be fondly remembered by her loving family and many friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Gordon Spoon.

Survivors include her husband of 60 years, Mickey J. Spoon, to whom she was united in marriage September 29, 1956; children, Teresa Thomas (John) of Indianapolis, Robert Spoon (Angela) of Brownsburg, and Dora Harmon (Randy) of Reelsville; sister, Kathryn Ferguson (Tom) of Indianapolis; nine grandchildren; a host of great grandchildren.

Friends and family will gather Sunday, December 4, 2016, 2 to 5 p.m., in the chapel at Carlisle – Branson Funeral Service & Crematory. The funeral service will begin at 1 p.m., Monday, December 5, 2016, in the funeral home. Burial will be in Mooresville Cemetery.
