Shirley V. “Ginger” (Duhamell) Reagan
70, of Mooresville, passed away on January 13, 2019 at St. Francis Hospital, Mooresville surrounded by her family after a courageous battle with dementia. Shirley was born on August 20, 1948 in Indianapolis, IN to the late Russell Dale and Kathleen (Mundy) Duhamell.
“Ginger” as she was known to her family and close friends, was a wonderful and devoted wife, mother, sister, grandmother and friend. She was known for her tidy, clean home and would often be the favorite gathering spot as she was also known to always have wonderful homecooked meals. Her chicken & noodles, chili, cookies and carrot cake were among the family favorites. She didn’t know a stranger and was a loyal and fierce defender of her family and friends. She was always willing to lend a hand to anyone in need. In addition to cooking, she enjoyed spending time with her family traveling to various locations throughout the Southwestern United States, in particular Arizona, where she and her husband Ron lived for several years. She also enjoyed camping down on the Ohio River and owned a vacation home in Madison, IN. A Registered Dietician by trade, she cooked for various nursing facilities around central Indiana including The Harrison.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Judy Roberts.
Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 36 years, Ron Reagan; daughters Elisa (Greg) Sanders, Ann Ballard; sons Terry Chambers, Jeff Reagan; sisters Sandra (Clyde) Rigdon, Mari Lou Sechman, Linda S. Merritt; 11 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held Thursday from 4-8pm at Carlisle Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, Mooresville. Funeral services will be Friday at 10am at the funeral home.
Burial will follow the services in West Newton Cemetery.
