Sophie H. “Yaya” (Marianos) LeBlanc, 90, Mooresville, passed away peacefully March 4, 2017. Mrs. LeBlanc was born August 3, 1926, in Indianapolis, to the late Nicholas and Teresa (Harakous) Marianos.
Sophie graduated from Manual High School and Indiana Business College. She worked for 20 years at Indiana Farm Bureau before raising her family. As a fulltime mother, she also sold Stanley Home Products for years. Sophie was a member of St. Thomas More Catholic Church and Kappa Kappa Sigma Sorority. Additionally, she was a longtime member of the American Legion Post 103 Ladies’ Auxiliary and the VFW Post 1111 Ladies’ Auxiliary. Sophie’s magnetic personality, charm, and loving way will be missed by her devoted family and many friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Bayard J. “Frenchie” LeBlanc.
Survivors include her daughters, Sandra Smith of Indianapolis and Brenda Covey (Mike) of Mooresville; sons, Bradley LeBlanc (Beth) of Cincinnati, and Stanley LeBlanc (Ann) of Mooresville; brother, James Marianos (Loraine) of Arizona; ten grandchildren; six great grandchildren.
Friends and family will gather on Friday, March 10, 2017, 5 to 8 p.m., in the chapel at
Carlisle – Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, Mooresville. The funeral service will begin at 10 a.m., Saturday, March 11, 2017, in the funeral home. Longtime friend, Pastor Billy Gott, will officiate and burial will be in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens, Greenwood. Memorial contributions may be made to a favorite charity.
