Stella Bea Barnes, 83, Camby, formerly of Monterey, Tennessee, passed away peacefully December 28, 2016. Mrs. Barnes was born June 2, 1933, in Crawford, Tennessee, to the late Oscar and Bertha (Skinner) Hargis.
A loyal and loving wife, mother, and grandmother, Stella was a proud homemaker who took great pride in her family. She enjoyed quilting, and spending time with her grandchildren. She loved to cook and make sure everyone was well fed – making the best cornbread and chocolate gravy, among just a few of her southern recipes. Stella will be fondly remembered by her loving family and many friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Paul Barnes; siblings, Anna Ruth, Cliva, Marie, Eileen, Maxine, and Boyd.
Survivors include her sons, Danny Barnes (Beverly) of Camby, Donny Barnes of Mooresville, and Larry Barnes (Sherry) of Mooresville; sister, Daisy Garrett; nine grandchildren, Michael Barnes (Michelle), Daniel Barnes (Kelly), Jessica Imburgia (Anthony), Anthony Barnes (Sierra), Kaitlyn Barnes, Patience Barnes, Emily Barnes, Johnny Barnes, and Nate Barnes; 16 great grandchildren; 8 great great grandchildren.
Friends and family will gather Friday, December 30, 2016, 5 to 8 p.m., in the chapel at Carlisle – Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, Mooresville. The funeral service will be officiated by Pastor Dave Thurman Saturday, December 31, 2016, 1 p.m., in the funeral home. Burial will follow in White Lick Cemetery, Mooresville.
