On May 6, 2021, Stephen A. Edwards, 75, passed surrounded by love in his home, after a heroic battle with multiple myeloma. Born on September 11, 1945, “Damn It” to Dorthea J. Edwards.
An alumni of Mooresville High School class of 1963, he played in the band and honed his gambling skills that turned into a lifelong love of poker.
As a child Steve spent most of his time with his granddad at the lake or at the shop. At the lake he would fish, shoot, and practice his very colorful language that followed and flourished as an adult. The third generation owner of Ace Tool and Engineering, he became a master metalsmith, machinist, mathematician, engineer, and a never retired.
Steve married the late love of his life on October 7, 1966, Cheryl, a love that lasted over five decades. In 1993 Steve and Cheryl were both honored as Mooresvillian of the Year. He served Mooresville as the Police Commissioner, on the Town Planning Committee, President of the Town Council, and was a proud local resident. Steve never had a problem voicing his opinion.
A WWII historian, foodie, cat lover, a fierce lover of his women, and so much more; Steve will be missed more than words can measure!
Steve is survived by Michelle, Alexis, and David Lee, who lovingly fated to continue the Ace Tool Legacy.
