Sunday M. Lewis, of Waverly, died on March 8, 2013. She leaves her husband, Terry; sons, Jacob and Samuel Light; stepdaughter, Jessica Bell; granddaughter, Kailey, who is losing her dear Nana; parents, Harold and Jean Price of Titusville, Florida; sister, Kerri Howington of Pendleton; brothers, Andrew of Trafalgar and Timothy Price of Waverly Woods.
Sunday began her venture in life on January 15, 1962, at Seaway Hospital in Trenton, Michigan. She moved to Waverly Woods with her family in 1972 and subsequently graduated from Mooresville High in 1980. She began her working career at the old Dairy Queen in Mooresville while in high school and has had various jobs in the community. She worked at Pilot Travel Center at 465 and SR37 for fifteen years. Beyond her family she found happiness in gardening and eventually becoming a “Master Gardener.” Cultivating flowers and other plants were a special source of contentment. In addition, she had a place in her heart for natures little creatures. She especially found delight in birds. By adding ponds and various trees their yard is registered in Indiana as a bird sanctuary. There has always been some tenderness for any that needed care and nurturing even the human type. She will be missed by her family since she was the pillar of strength for Terry and her children and grandchild. Life presented some difficult moments but she always managed to endure with strength and character leaving an example for any who would notice. It was not meant to be a showcase of strength of principle but that is what it was. The world needs more of her kind.
