Susan E. Colbert, 61, Mooresville, joined her parents in Heaven on February 5, 2017. Susan was born August 1, 1955, in Princeton, to the late Bill and Eleanor (Eckiss) Colbert.
She graduated from Mooresville High School and earned teaching degree from Ball State University. Susan worked as a teacher for many years, first at Garden City Elementary and for the bulk of her career at Hall Elementary, west of Monrovia. She also worked for Citizens Bank for a period of time. Susan was a member of the First United Methodist Church and the Indiana State Teachers Association. She enjoyed crafts, especially painting and was an accomplished cook. She had a fondness for lighthouses and enjoyed collecting them. Never having her own children, Susan was especially proud of her nephews and niece.
Survivors include her brother, Tim Colbert (Sharon) of Indianapolis; nephews, Ryan Colbert (Brittnie), Trent Colbert, Timmy Colbert (Madison); niece, Erica Smith (Mark); great niece, Addy Marie; great nephew, Caleb Benjamin.
Friends and family will gather on Thursday, February 9, 2017, 5 to 8 p.m. in the chapel at
Carlisle – Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, Mooresville. The funeral service will begin at 10 a.m., Friday, February 10, 2017, in the funeral home. Burial will be in White Chapel Cemetery, Princeton. Visit www.CarlisleBranson.com to share a favorite memory or to sign the online guest registry.
