Susan Zielska Covey

Susan Zielska Covey, 67, Camby, entered into Eternal Life February 9, 2020. Susie was born September 25, 1952, in Indianapolis, to the late John and Esther (Hadley) Zielska.

She was raised on a farm and learned important life lessons at an early age – hard work, no guts no glory, family first. Susie had the “no guts no glory” part by the time she was a teen! She could be as fierce as a lion or as gentle as a puppy. Her circle of friends didn’t need to have money, the most expensive clothes, or the biggest house on the block. If you were Susie’s friend, you were a friend for life. She married Steve on May 16, 1970, and together, they raised three children. She was a proud mother and exceptionally proud grandmother.

Susie graduated from Mooresville High School in 1970 and worked for several years at Automotive Armature. Her job as “Domestic Engineer” though was her favorite occupation.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her father-in-law, Bob Covey.

Susie is survived by her husband of 49 years, Steven Covey; sons, Steven “Steve-O” Covey and Jason (Nicole) Covey; daughter, Lisa (Tony) Poe; brothers, John W. “Bill” (Susie) Zielska and David (Mona) Zielska; grandchildren, Kayla, Zach, Jaycee, A.J., Alex, and Brooklynn.

Susie left strong instructions that her life be celebrated! Friends and family will gather Wednesday, February 12, 2020, 4 to 8 p.m., at the Carlisle – Branson Funeral Service & Crematory. A service to celebrate the life of Susie Zielska Covey will begin at 11 a.m., Thursday, February 13, 2020. Susie’s lifelong friend, Billy Gott, will officiate. Burial will be in West Newton Cemetery.
