Ted Greene, 92, Mooresville, died peacefully at home on July 27, 2011. Mr. Greene was born May 20, 1919, in Riley, Indiana, to the late Guy E. and Ada (Price) Greene.
Mr. Greene graduated from Riley High School and earned Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from Indiana State University. An educator for 40 years, Mr. Greene taught industrial arts at Worthington for several years, Mooresville for three years, and spent 27 years in Wayne Township. For 48 years, Mr. Greene was a seed inspector during the summer months for the Indiana Crop Association through Purdue University.
He was a devoted member of The Church at Mt. Gilead in Mooresville, where he served communion every Sunday. He was also a member of the Indiana State Teachers’ Association. Mr. Greene enjoyed reading the newspaper, was an avid gardener, enjoyed digital photography, and was a loyal Indianapolis Colts fan. His wife Jane and his boys always looked to Blue for encouragement and support through the years.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Stanley Greene.
Survivors include his wife, Jane (Lewis) Greene; sons, Dennis Greene (Ada) of New Castle, Dale Greene of Mooresville, and Dana Greene (Kris) of Plainfield; 11 grandchildren; many great grandchildren.
Friends and family will gather on Sunday, July 31, 2011, from 2 to 6 p.m., at Carlisle – Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, Mooresville. The funeral service will begin at 1 p.m., Monday, August 1, 2011, in The Church at Mt. Gilead, Mooresville, with additional calling from 12 Noon. Burial will be in White Lick Cemetery, Mooresville. Memorial contributions may be made to the church.
