Thelma Jones, 81, Hazelwood, died June 25, 2012. She was born October 6, 1930, in Brodhead, KY, to the late Leonard and Lou Cordia (McLemore) Cox.
Thelma was an excellent cook. She loved nature, wildlife, and especially animals. Thelma worked as a waitress for over 25 years at the Blue and White Service Station in Monrovia.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Phillip Jones; son, Robert “Ricky” Samuels; and a brother, Delbert Cox.
Survivors include her daughter, Philene Jones of Hazelwood; son, Marvin Jones, Sr. of Hopkinsville, KY; brother, Danny Cox of Indianapolis; canine companion, Tucker; 7 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held at 1 p.m., Thursday, June 28, 2012, in the Carlisle – Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, Mooresville. Visitation will be held there from 4 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, June 27, 2012. Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery, Plainfield.
