Thelma Myree Robertson DaVee, 91, of Mooresville, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, June 28, 2013. She was born on September 9, 1921, in Helmsburg, Indiana, to the late Roy and Odessa (Tyrle) Robertson.
Thelma graduated from Nashville High School and grew up in southern Indiana. She was a member of the Church at Mt. Gilead, Mooresville and previously at Bluff Creek Christian Church. She had an uplifting personality with a sense of humor that could lighten up the room. A faithful servant, she was very active in church with teaching Sunday school, helping with church dinners, and would often visit other members with her husband, Bill. Her hobbies included mushroom hunting, gardening, baking, and caring for her family. Above all, Thelma led a positive, loving, and compassionate life. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Janis Kay Conner; grandson, Lucas Adam DaVee; sisters, Retta “Jane” Sturgeon and Mickey Cathrine; brothers, Otis and Pete Robertson.
Survivors include her loving husband of 67 years, William “Bill” DaVee, to whom she was united in marriage on June 8, 1946; son, Randy DaVee (Robin) of Mooresville; sister, Betty Taylor ; granddaughters, Heather Anderson (Brian) and Desi DaVee; grandson, Christopher Conner; great grandsons, Brad Ellis and Cameron Anderson; great great grandson, Trey Ellis; many nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will gather from 4 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, July 2, 2013, in the Church at Mt. Gilead, 6019 E. Old State Road 144, Mooresville, with the funeral service beginning at 8 p.m. Entombment will be held privately in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens, Greenwood. Rev. Terry Crist will officiate the services. In lieu of flowers, the family strongly encourages that memorial contributions be made to the Lord’s Locker, 101 S. Pleasant Street, Trafalgar, IN 46181.
