Thomas Melvin Cherry, Jr., 61, passed away November 28, 2019 at Community Hospital South. Thomas was born September 24, 1958, in Indianapolis, Indiana, to Thomas Melvin Cherry, Sr. and Lois (Abney) Helton.
Thomas worked 33 years at General Motor Company as a machine repairer. He was a member of Morgan County Cattle Association, President of Parents Football Association, Monrovia, and U.A.W. Member Local 23. Thomas enjoyed cattle, basketball, football, and coaching little league baseball. In high school Thomas ran track and played basketball. He is going to be greatly missed by his loving family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his wife Sheryl Anne Cherry, and father, Thomas Melvin Cherry, Sr.
Survivors include his daughter, Ashley (Matthew) Finney; granddaughters, Ellie and Paisley; Fiancé, Gay Cross; mother, Lois Helton; sisters, Kathy Rich and Pamela (Jim) Robert and step-sons, Tyson Rugenstien and Dan Rugenstien.
Visitation will be Tuesday, 12-2 p.m., December 3, 2019 at Carlisle – Branson Funeral Service & Crematory. Service will begin at 2 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Mt.
