Thomas N Edwards

Thomas N. Edwards, 61 of Greencastle and formerly of Avon, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 27 surrounded by his loving family at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis. He was born November 21, 1953 in Indianapolis to Dorothy J. (Puckett) Edwards and the late Guy Thomas Edwards. On August 7, 1976 Tom and his loving wife, Monica A. (Wampler) Edwards were united in marriage, she survives.
Tom was proud to be a 1978 graduate of Purdue University where he earned his B.S. degree in civil engineering. In January of 1995 Tom and his business partner, Jeff Rigdon founded Edwards-Rigdon Construction Company, Inc., where he worked until retiring in August of 2014. Proudly serving his community, Tom was a past president for the board of directors at the Avon Chamber of Commerce, a member of the Avon Rotary Club and served on the building and grounds committee at St. Christopher Catholic Church in Speedway.
Along with his wife and mother, other survivors include his two sons, Thomas C. (Kayla) Edwards of Avon and Daniel J. (Mary) Edwards of Crown Point, Indiana; his sister, Sheila J. (Randy) Kanaby of Mooresville; his grandson, Samuel T. Edwards, several nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
Family and friends will gather in the chapel at Carlisle-Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, Mooresville on Saturday, January 31 from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. A service in celebration of Tom’s life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to American Diabetes Association or Putnam County Humane Society, envelopes will be made available at the funeral home.
