Vaden E. Brizendine, 91, Mooresville, died October 31, 2012. Vaden was born March 26, 1921, in Bethpage, Tennessee.
He proudly served in the United States Navy during World War II and later graduated from Arsenal Technical High School. Vaden worked for Naval Avionics for 22 years, retiring in 1982. He was a charter member of St. Thomas More Catholic Church and a member and past master of Mooresville Masonic Lodge #78. Vaden was active with Ham radio and also enjoyed his friendships through his membership in the Mooresville American Legion Post #103.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Ralph and Ola; sisters, Pauline and Edith; daughter-in-law, Dorothee Brizendine.
Survivors include his wife, Janece (Cour) Brizendine, to whom he was united in marriage March 21, 1945; sons, Mike Brizendine (Marilyn) of Indianapolis, Steve Brizendine (Shirley) of Arizona, Breck Brizendine of Evansville, and Mace Brizendine of Mooresville; sister, Louise McDougall; ten grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren.
Friends and family will gather on Saturday, November 3, 2012, 5 to 8 p .m., in the Carlisle – Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, Mooresville. The Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 2 p.m., Sunday, November 4, 2012, in St. Thomas More Catholic Church. Burial will be held privately on Monday in Washington Park North Cemetery, Indianapolis. Memorial contributions may be made to the church, Mooresville Masonic Lodge or to the Mooresville American Legion.
