Verna Caudill, 100, Mooresville, died peacefully at home on August 25, 2012, surrounded by the love of her family. Ms. Caudill was born April 14, 1912, in Halley, Kentucky, to the late Irvin and Lizzie (Halcomb) Caudill.
She was a proud homemaker and enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Ms. Caudill enjoyed reading, doing word searches, and watching Charles Stanley preach on television. She had a very positive and upbeat personality and a keen sense of humor.
She was preceded in death by eleven brothers and sisters.
Survivors include her daughter, Billy Sue Brown (Roen) of Mooresville; son, Jackie Allen Caudill or Kentucky; brother, Ivis Caudill of Brownsburg; grandchildren, Roen Allen Brown, Kimmie Jean Stephenson, and David Allen Caudill; great grandchildren, Lacey Lynn Brown and Josey Jean Brown.
The funeral service will begin at 11 a.m., Wednesday, August 29, 2012, in the Carlisle – Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, Mooresville, with calling there from 4 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, August 28, 2012. Burial will be in White Lick Cemetery, Mooresville. Memorial contributions may be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation or to the Christian Appalachian Project.
